  • Not Just Wedding Photographers!

Steve and I have always enjoyed doing portraits but haven't taken the time to pursue a lot of portrait sessions other than the occasional friend or family member.  Starting this season though we are really promoting and desiring to do more portrait work.  We have done some great family sessions in the last few months and are really excited to do more soon.

If you would like to view any of our family sessions you can click on this link - you will have to register on our proofing site to view images.  We have some Senior Portrait sessions there as well if you are looking to have your Senior pictures done.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Amy and Mark ~ Saturday, April 12th, 2008

I just had to post a few pictures from Amy and Mark's wedding from this weekend.  They got married at the beautiful Hinsdale United Methodist Church and had a fantastic reception (with great food) at Ashton Place in Willowbrook.  Food is something I love and not only did they have a great dinner but a wonderful cake and a beautiful dessert station as well.  Thanks so much Amy and Mark for a great day and I hope you have an amazingly beautiful life together.

  • Joanne and Travis ~ Engagement Session in Grand Rapids

Steve and I had a great time with Joanne and Travis on Friday. We spent most of their session in downtown Grand Rapids and ended up on the beautiful campus at Aquinas College.  Their wedding is coming up pretty fast - June 21st - and we can't wait.  It will be my first beach wedding of the year and I'm sure it's going to be fantastic.

  • Amber and Josh ~ April 5th, 2008

Amber and Josh got married this Saturday at the amazing Palais Royale ballroom in South Bend. This gorgeous ballroom was a perfect spot for a perfect wedding. Amber and Josh were wonderful to work with and very easy to photograph! The weather cooperated and we were able to get outside for a while. Everyone spoke so highly of Amber and Josh and it was easy to see why.

  • It's Time to start booking for your Senior session

Steven and I are starting to book for our Senior season. We are only booking 25 sessions this year and we want to take the time with each of you to make sure you look your best. Unlike so many other photographers in the area that will only spend a few minutes in the studio or on the beach with you stacked up with 20 other seniors, Steven and I take our time getting to know you so that we capture you looking and feeling your best. We do not nickel and dime you to death either. We do not charge extra for small things like making an image B&W or for going to a few locations. All of our sessions include 90 days online proofing with all images available in color and black & white so you can choose which one you like best.

We love what we do and we would love to work with you this year. Please contact us for more information or to book your session. We hope to hear from you soon!

  • Tami and Jason ~ March 29th, 2008

Steve and I were so excited to work with Tami and Jason.  I hope they don't mind me sharing a bit of their story but I think it adds depth to the occasion and some of the photographs we were able to get for them.  Jason and Tami booked me to photograph their wedding on September 6th and I was looking forward to their fall wedding, especially because they had planned on using the pedestrian bridge in Grand Rapids for their ceremony site and I knew it would be fabulous.  I got an email from Jason at the end of January asking if I had availability at all in late March or early April.  They had just found out that his father had terminal cancer and they were looking at moving the wedding up to make sure he would be able to attend.  Thankfully I did have a few weekends open around the time they were looking at and they chose March 29th.

We had an amazing day with gorgeous light everywhere and were so blessed to be a part of Tami and Jason's wedding day.  There were a few hard moments.  After the ceremony I had to step back and pull back the tears as I watched Tami's father embrace Jason and then shake his fathers hand.

Not only were Tami and Jason a beautiful couple but they were also a pleasure to work with.  We wish them and their families the best.  Here are some photographs from yesterday.

  • The Wollam Family

Steve and I had a great time photographing the Wollam family this weekend.  We did a lifestyle session at their home - we love doing this and getting some natural pictures, especially of children in their own environment.  Cooper was so funny and so full of personallity and you can see in the pictures that he loves his books.  Too cute!

Some of Steve's photographs from the session.  I love the first one.

  • I had the honor of photographing Sarah and Brad's wedding on Saturday.  They were a very sweet couple and a pleasure to work with.  They have been together for 7-1/2 years!  Sarah was so excited to FINALLY get to wear her wedding dress and it was amazing.

  • Quick Update

Hello everyone!  I'm so excited to be shooting my second wedding of the season tomorrow and I'm looking forward to having some great photographs to share by next week.

We are looking forward to a busy season already - our calendar is filling up fast with meetings, engagement sessions, family portraits and of course senior portraits.  Plus we have all kinds of fun things coming up too.  Jonah turns three in April and Zachary will be one in May.  Hopefully we'll have some new pictures of them to post soon too.

  • The Lighthouse in Frankfort

Steve and I just got back yesterday from spending some time with our boys up in Frankfort at a beautiful rental home owned by our friends Aaron and Valerie.  We stayed in the Beach House this time and when we went in the fall we stayed at the Barn Cottage.  All of the houses are just amazing.  We took turns driving in to the coffee shop in town so we could get online and keep up with emails and I drove down to the beach one day to take a few pictures.  I am excited to see the beach in the summer.  If you are ever heading up to northern Michigan and planning on going to the Traverse City area you should really check out these rental houses.
