  • Just thought I'd share some pictures of my boys.  They were playing so nicely together the other day that I just had to get some snapshots.  I need to get the camera out more often and just capture our daily life.  Maybe I'll make that a goal over the next few months.  These guys are growing WAY too fast!

    Aren't they sweet!?

  • New Sample Book

I just got my new sample book and wanted to share some pages.  I took the pictures but Steve designed the pages and I love the book.  Racine and Dan got married last August and we had a great time working with them.  I just went back through their wedding and found so many images I liked that I decided to use them for some new work to show.

  • More from Mexico as promised!

The gardens at Serenidad Shardon were beautiful.  Robyn took me around and showed me all of the different trees and flowers.  I'm thinking I should have spent more time photographing the beauty all around.

This is one of the many small ruins that are all along the jungle road.

There were hermit crabs all over the place.  I wasn't always quick to spot them but they are fun to watch.

We stopped at a resort along the road and had drinks and went swimming.  I believe the name of the place was Sol Carribe.  Salty margarita but excellent "Mike Tyson".  I don't drink much and got a little silly.  Steve took some funny pictures of me but I won't post those here!  :)

    Who wouldn't enjoy this!?

Sunrise at Serenidad Shardon.  So beautiful...

Steve is happy to have a picture of himself that he likes.  I never get pictures of him with a genuine smile on his face to this is GREAT.  We had lunch at a very nice restaurant in downtown Tulum.  The food and the drinks were excellent.

We did have some funny things happen.  You know when you are staying in the jungle in a humid climate that there are going to be bugs but you know, I just hate to see them.

We found a gigantic spider in the house we were staying in but not thankfully it was in the lower level where Steve and I were not sleeping.  We brought home some shells for the boys.  We put them in a large Ziplock baggie and put them in my suitcase.  Well, when we got back to Steve's mom and dad's house he pulled the baggie out to show them the shells and an identical giant spider crawled out of one of the shells.  I am so thankful we had that thing bagged up!  I HATE spiders!  I'm thinking it was living in that shell on the beach and we brought it in the house and then home with us.  Ugh!

Enough bug stuff...did I mention the food was awesome and the resort was gorgeous!?  I do have more pictures to post but I'm just editing and posting as I have time - which is very limited.  I'll try to get more up in a day or two but no promises!

  • Just thought I'd let you all know that this is what I'm up to tonight.  September's Bride is a great bridal boutique in downtown Holland and the owner, Tami, is great to work with.  Come see us if you're in the area.

More Mexico pictures tomorrow!  For now I just wanted to post a picture I took of Steve and Jonah before Steve left for Africa.  Steve won't be back for another week.  Man, I miss him!

  • Fun Stuff from Robyn and Jason's E-Session

We ended Robyn and Jason's engagement session at a gorgeous beach off of the jungle road on the way back to Punta Allen where they took a little tumble into the ocean.  It was a great end to a really fun day and made for some good photos.  I'm looking forward to posting more pictures of the scenery and our trip tomorrow.  I'll try to come around and catch up on everyones blogs soon!

  • Sunset in the Mexican jungle.

Our new favorite place.   Serenidad Shardon

From our engagement session with Robyn and Jason.  It was HOT but we got some amazing pictures of Robyn and Jason along the ocean and in the jungle at some Mayan ruins.

  • And a good time is being had by all...

I can´t even begin to describe what it is like here.  Amazing just doesn´t cut it.

We arrived in Cancun Tuesday morning and loaded into the Suburban.  Stopped at several stores along the way to pick up supplies and then headed into the jungle.  The last major city before we left the beaten path was Tulum.  Entering the jungle was like entering a whole new world.  The dirt road is lined by palm trees and is barely wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other.  There are Mayan ruins all along the road and at least one you can see as you drive by.

We got to Serenidad Shardon just at dusk and didn´t have an opportunity to see much of the grounds but The Beach House where we are staying is wonderful.  Steve and I are actually staying on the upper floor (nice to have some room to ourselves since we are considering this our anniversary vacation as well).  We hung out at the main house and then walked up the road to have some dinner.  I´ll have to get the name of the place, it was awesome!  We came back and everyone hung out for a while - I went to bed.

Wednesday morning I woke up pretty early and walked out onto the beach before heading back to bed.  When we all got up we just relaxed.  We walked up to the little grocery store and got some supplies and Steve made egg tacos for breakfast...very yummy.  Then we got around and later in the afternoon we went up the road to Robyn and Jason´s favorite beach.  The waves there were so much fun to play in and it was a gorgeous day.  We came back to some of the guests here making baracuda and lobster tails for dinner.  Unfortunatly none of us girls eat seafood so we walked up to another restaurant and got fajitas to bring back.  Hung out for a while around the fire and went to bed.

Today (Thursday) we all got up at sunrise and Steve and I took some pictures of the property here.  Then we waited for the power to come on at 10am and got ready to go do Robyn and Jason´s engagment pictures.  What an awesome day!  I´ll write about it more tomorrow when I have some pictures ready to post.

Time to go relax...Ahh...this is the life!

  • Off To Mexico!

Hello everyone!  I had hoped to get up some more pictures before we take off but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.  We are driving to Detroit today and flying to Mexico first thing tomorrow morning.  This is going to be a much needed trip and we are combining business and pleasure so that makes it even better.  I am hoping to come back with some amazing pictures of the ruins near where we will be staying.  Steve and I are going to be photographing Robyn and Jason's engagement pictures and doing some photographs of his mother's resort as well.  They are in the process of re-vamping their website and we are going to help them with that.

Please pray for safe travels for us and that our boys don't miss us too much while we are gone.  Thanks everyone and have a great week.

  • Megan and Chris ~ January 11th, 208

I only spent a short part of the day with Megan but it was so nice to get to know her and be a part of her and Chris' wedding day.  Steve and our friend Tracy shot most of the day so I just went for a little of the getting ready through the ceremony.  Megan and Chris wanted to get a picture of everyone that was there so my second picture here was taken standing in front of them while Steve shot the crowd from the balcony.  This first shot was taken in the hallway just before the ceremony.

I am so blessed to be doing something that I love and the people I get to work with make it so worthwhile.
